Child of God: A Baptism Song 

Child of God is a simple, call and response song declaring the words spoken over us at baptism: "Child of God, you are sealed by the Spirit and marked with the cross of Christ forever." May this message simply and powerfully remind us of our indelible identity as beloved children of God.

The story behind the song: In the fall of 2024, liturgical leaders (songwriters, worship leaders, pastors) gathered for collaborative songwriting with the goal of writing new songs for the church. Our very specific goal was to write music--based on the 2025 Lutheran Outdoor Ministries summer curriculum--reflecting an expansive theology of God and God's creation. Child of God is one of the songs from this time.
